Recovery run...painful but so good

Ok, so a nice mellow 7.75 mile run along forbidden dr was just what the doctor ordered! I must admit that the first few steps on the trail to forbidden dr were just a little painful and every log that needed to be stepped over felt like I was running up hill with pins in my quads! Thankfully this only lasted for a about a mile then.....light being hit hit by something my legs felt opened up and ready to go from a mellow 8:50 pace to a comfortable 7:00mm. The legs are starting to come around but I wasn't looking forward to the "roller" yes we have a roller with ripples in it that make you wince in pain and tonight wasn't going to be be!
Well, the roller wasn't fun....it was GREAT and my legs were thanking me for every minute of it. Oh, my body thanked me for the wine afterwards! So, it's 2 days post 50k and I fell almost full recovered BUT I'm still going to take it easy and do a short run Wednesday evening and if all go to plan a longish run on Thursday with the Wissahickon Wanders "beer drinkers with a running problem". Looking forward to Saturday as well, long run out to wissahickon, hit up the trails then back home followed by work and then our old neighbor is coming back to philly from Northern Cali so it will be WINE time! This is all tentative because if I don't feel like running than I won't. It's a long season after all.
